Author/Consultant, Valencia R. Williams, and VBS Publishing will assist those who desire to become authors. This program enables you to complete a book within 10 weeks.

Working with other writers and preparing for publication affords you as the writer an opportunity to focus on your writing skills and talents. This program is also designed to build self-esteem and encourages team/group work. You as the writer will improve writing skills such as editing, content reading, and giving and receiving constructive criticism.

Everyone has a story to tell. Putting thoughts on paper helps people to deal with personal issues. This course is what we call, therapeutic. By writing down thoughts and ideas, one can find unexpected solutions to problems. This program will give the writer a sense of accomplishment and pride that may lead to a successful masterpiece that may be the next best seller.

VBS Publishing will provide a 2 hour per day course which you as the writer can set your own hours and days. We expect 4hrs per week.

Our step-by-step process will include:

• Topic development
• Identification of your audience
• Outlining the book
• Organizing and formatting the storyline
• Using precise timelines and deadlines
• Ideas on the design of the cover
• Content reading (writers will read and critique the writing of their peers)
• Peer editing (prior to final editing by VBS)
• Writers will work in a safe and comfortable environment

There will be two personal outings for all participants (not mandatory).

We will share more in depth outlines of our stories and learn about what encouraged us to write a book. We will also watch several 5 Star movies, have debates and talk until the sun comes up.
